O que são alimentos ultraprocessados e por que fugir deles
Alimentos ultraprocessados são aqueles que passaram por vários processos industriais. De maneira geral, possuem alta adição de açúcares, gorduras trans, sódio, substâncias sintetizadas em laboratório e, principalmente, conservantes
A composição nutricional deles é baixa. Isso significa que praticamente não possuem nutrientes para auxiliar o corpo em suas funções cotidianas. Ao mesmo tempo, são ricos em calorias
A longo prazo, o consumo de alimentos ultraprocessados resulta em problemas para a flora intestinal e traz malefícios à saúde em geral, podendo causar enfermidades como obesidade, diabetes, hipertensão e osteoporose
Pesquisas recentes também têm associado o consumo de alimentos ultraprocessados a doenças cardiovasculares e mortes prematuras
Um estudo da Universidade de Navarra acompanhou cerca de 20 mil voluntários, por duas décadas. Durante esse período, 335 pessoas morreram: a cada 10 mortes entre os que tinham uma dieta equilibrada, foram contabilizados 16 óbitos no grupo que comia ultraprocessados
Outro trabalho, da Universidade de Paris, acompanhou 100 mil pessoas durante cinco anos. A pesquisa revelou que o grupo que ingeria maior quantidade de alimentos ultraprocessados também apresentou maior incidência de problemas cardíacos
“A conservação deste tipo de alimento exige grandes quantidades de sal, açúcar e/ou de gorduras saturadas ou trans. E eles, praticamente, não possuem fibras. Tudo isso é muito ruim à saúde”, explica o nutrólogo Allan Ferreira, do Hospital Anchieta
Para reconhecer um alimento ultraprocessado, a recomendação é checar o rótulo. Em regra, considera-se que, se um produto contém mais de cinco ingredientes em sua composição, é um ultraprocessado
Na categoria, entram salsicha, bacon e hambúrgueres industrializados. Chocolates, biscoitos, sopas instantâneas e refeições prontas, como nuggets, lasanhas e pizzas congeladas
Para fugir dos ultraprocessados, opte pela “comida de verdade” – frutas, legumes, verduras, raízes e castanhas
