A vitamina C, ou ácido ascórbico, é um poderoso antioxidante que retarda o envelhecimento celular, e participa da formação de colágeno e da produção de células brancas, responsáveis pela defesa do organismo contra infecções

Essa vitamina é especialmente indicada no tratamento contra a anemia, pois auxilia na absorção de ferro pelo intestino. Ela também melhora a circulação do sangue, por isso previne doenças cardiovasculares, como a aterosclerose e a pressão alta

A principal forma de obter a vitamina C é pela alimentação. Consumir alimentos ricos em vitamina C é uma necessidade diária, pois essa substância é eliminada aos poucos pela urina

No topo do ranking de alimentos ricos em vitamina C, está a acerola. Com 100 gramas dessa frutinha, é possível obter 941,1 mg de vitamina C. Também se recomenda o consumo de laranja, limão, kiwi e morango
