A premissa de Ted Lasso – um treinador de futebol americano que vai trabalhar em um time de menor expressão no futebol inglês – pode parecer absurda, mas funciona
Tanto funciona que a série da Apple TV conquistou quatro Emmys na noite de domingo (19/9): Melhor Série, Melhor Ator, Melhor Ator Coadjuvante e Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante, todos na categoria comédia
Mas esqueça os prêmios: Ted Lasso é muito mais do que isso. É uma daquelas séries que aquecem o coração, com ótimos personagens e uma narrativa simples, porém, ao mesmo tempo, cativante
Os fãs do futebol, por exemplo, vão adorar acompanhar o clima dos estádios ingleses, do vestiário de uma equipe, da dinâmica entre os jogadores. Tudo isso ocorre sob a perspectiva de um americano, o que rende várias situações hilárias
O americano, no caso, é o personagem principal, Ted Lasso – um técnico otimista, porém, por vezes, bastante inocente, interpretado por Jason Sudeikis
Apesar da leveza, a série não tem medo de abordar questões sensíveis, como saúde mental, relacionamentos, armadilhas da fama, sexualidade, etc.
E, claro, para explorar tantos temas assim, é necessário um elenco à altura. Além de Lasso, outro personagem que roubou nossos corações é Roy Kent, interpretado por Brett Goldstein, vencedor do Emmy de Melhor Ator Coadjuvante em comédia
No melhor estilo “os brutos também amam”, Roy não cansa de nos fazer rir e nos emocionar, em interações hilárias com sua namorada Keeley, sua sobrinha Phoebe e com o bully que tenta se redimir, Jamie Tartt
E o que dizer da poderosa e deslumbrante Hannah Waddingham, vencedora do Emmy de Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante, pela sua interpretação de Rebecca Welton, a mandachuva do AFC Richmond?
Isso porque ainda não citamos Coach Beard, Sam Obisanya, o assistente-técnico Nathan, ou até mesmo o sério jornalista Trent Crimm (do Independent), todos essenciais para adicionar alma a Ted Lasso
Mais do que um Web Story, a série merece uma boa maratona, de preferência acompanhada de um “pint”, porque, nas palavras levemente alteradas do empolgado mexicano Dani Rojas, “Ted Lasso é vida”
